Everybody needs to own
Someone or something
To be proud of or be shown
And praises to sing.
Mother’s pride of joy
Father’s apple of the eye
Baby’s little colourful toy
Lovers’ tearful goodbye.

Replace the missing letter

And the word sounds better.
It’s the greatest-ever mark
So crisp and stark
In poetry and in prose
Keeping things tight and close.
Let’s make people’s lives easier
Just punctuate to show and indicate
Making ownership or belonging clearer
Contractions and long words to abbreviate.
