the gods answer
and then they came
taunting at my innocence
clawing at my nakedness
squeezing sobs from my happiness

and then, they gathered
and drank with their eyes
the wine that was my body
till they were lust-full,
intoxicated by curves of me, their bottle.

and then, they desecrated
a temple built high for the holiest
my shrine spat blood in forced libation
my back has touched floor
their wine has spilled

and then, they sinned.
an invitation to the gods has been offered
libation has been poured
innocent blood coughs out prayers
their deeds seal up their 'blessings'
and the gods have heard a call they cannot refuse.

and then they came, the gods
repaying taunt for taunt
claw for claw
nakedness for nakedness
sob for sob
happiness for happiness

and then, today, they came, the gods
with a fierceness none has seen
and a vengeance close to their soul
for my mouth speaks close to their hearts.
today, a god answered.
