Closet Skeleton
There was never a smooth second back in the day
Or moment for that matter, just constant decay
Foes kept bawling— "I have a bone to pick with you!"
I'd dodge, but bones started stacking up two by two
Bones with some meaty bits marinated in tea
Festering bones heaping everywhere around me

I didn't want folks to get a strong whiff of trouble
To see all the calcium-fortified rubble
So, with no good choice, I did what I had to do
I took all those crisscrossing bones— bones old and new
And two-handed them all straight into my closet
Threw them in aiming for a standing deposit
Day after day, that bone pile continued to grow
Was puzzled as to how it did not overflow
But I was just far too naive not to have guessed
That the conclusion would be very bad at best

That a full-grown skeleton had taken its shape
And was carefully plotting a gutting escape
That would pillage my pride— strip me...
