Thanatophobia
My chapped lips chastise my life
And my leaky lonely eyes lose their shine.
My hands draw brilliant bleeding stripes
Spelling despair in a scarlet design.

Oh, how I hate living
Oh, how I hate it all...
Born in a cruel world unforgiving
I complain, I cry, I drawl.

My head hides in a haze, scared of strife
And my stale sighs rue their every breath.
But when mortality my miserable soul gripes
I fear my own death.

Oh, how I hate living
Oh, how I hate it all...
Yet I end up cowering
When I even think of my fall.

Every profanity I've poured through my poetry
Mocks me when I beg for another day.
I do not embrace existence, but I fear the end
For I have cursed my life away...
