Freedom... #2
Freedom, oh freedom, how sweet you are,
From the chains that bound me to a distant star,
The star of love that I couldn't reach,
The love that was unreturned, out of my reach.

Oh, how I longed to hold you near,
To whisper in your ear,
To feel the warmth of your embrace,
And gaze upon your lovely face.

But now I see that it was not to be,
That your heart was not meant for me,
And though it hurts, I must let go,
And move on to find my own flow.

For freedom is the sweetest prize,
When it comes from a love that dies,
And though I'll always hold you dear,
I'll cherish the freedom that I now revere.

So I'll spread my wings and fly away,
To a new horizon, a brand new day,
And though I'll never forget the love I had,
I'll embrace the freedom that I now hold so glad.
