Goodbye bumblebee
#WritcoPoemPrompt70
You took my pulse without ever touching me,
like honey and flowers, you were my bumblebee
I visited you every now and then,
sometimes in secret
and other times you could see me.
But just like a shadow, I was always meant to remain obscure
That day, like any other,
I came around,
once again hiding away.
But this time you were not alone
I saw her there,
A pretty little brunette
You approached her,
touched her like you never did me,
You chose another flower my bumblebee
Then I saw you get even closer
Your lips touched, and my mind turned barren…
I looked down at the red stream around me
The ambient sound of a nurse's scream
and the ever closing police siren
I knelt and caressed your face
My bumblebee,
now I understand why you never touched me
A poppy although beautiful is even more deadly
Your figure lay unmoving on the ground
Finally I could touch you;
however, you had no pulse.
