I, Ghost
Lurking amid the shadows of the livelihood,
I’d sacrifice anything to be envisioned.
By a friend, by an acquaintance, by any face,
Fading in, fading out with no body to be traced.

Rip out old chapter pages to reap into me,
The tale inked a millennia appears grim as can be.
Book of prayers, poem of songs, script of grace.
Listening in, listening out of chats displaced.

Sabotaging an aspiration for the last time,
I wish you see the stars changing their signs.
I beg for my cowardice to hide from the skylight.
So now I only pity for things to be alright.

A ghost lurking upon what remains,
With friends oblivious to purgatory’s chains.

Why is everything so shallow?
Where is my halo?
By Eden, by angels, by a man in the clouds,
Fading in, fading out with a voice’s drowning sound.

Slash out an ancient wound to never heal,
Flashing Anubis with an Ankh to conceal.
Holy water, passionate wine and lethal beer,
Wielding in, wielding out of things I shouldn’t hear.

Sabotaging a destiny for the final time,
I wish you saw the meteors shining like dimes.
I beg for you to come back to remember me as fine,
So now I dream of how everyone was here, and not I.

A ghost peeping through my heart’s holes,
With foes somehow feeling more like home.

Can you see me climbing out of haste?
Do you try to seek the bright from the dark place?
By a flashlight, by a lamppost, by a fire,
Fading in, fading out from the promises of liars.

Let me take back life to write my story,
Sign the good and the bad with the pure and gory.
Nuance novellas, somber sonnets and love diaries,
Shielding in, shielding out desolating boundaries.

Sabotaging a legacy for the final time,
I wish you could see the sunshine in its prime.
I beg for us to achieve a lifetime oh so divine,
So now I fantasise of the photos without me online.

A ghost trying to find somewhere to belong,
With connections in graves I had to walk from.
