My heart beats fast, my mind's in a haze,
As I gaze upon her with a love that amazes,
She's my English teacher, so wise and kind,
But I know that in her heart, another has entwined.

I'm only twelve, and she's thirty-one,

I wish I wasn't born so late,

And erase these feelings from my mind,

Even if it's a love that society taunts.

So, I'll keep this love locked inside,
A secret love that I'll always hide,
For it's a love that can never be,
A forbidden love that only hurts me.
