The farmer rises up;
in the arousal of the sun.
All out in the field,
Digging, rigging, ploughing,
Planting, sowing, picking,
Weeding, mending, fixing,
All for a bountiful harvest.
At last! His wages smiles at him.
The entrepreneur awakes;
in the ascension of the sun
All out in the field,
Thinking, planning, creating,
Aspiring, innovating, making,
Consulting, adapting, financing,
All for a great profit.
At last! his wages cries for joy.
The labourer jacks up,
in the the height of the sun.
All out in the field,
Singing, dancing, walking,
Labouring, working, helping,
Pushing, pulling, dragging,
All for a sweet hire
At last! His wages jumps for joy.
The wicked leaps up,
in the setting of the sun.
All out in the field,
Slandering, libeling, fornicating
Mocking, revenging, despising
Envying, evil plotting, adultering
All for a pleasurable end.
At last! His wages is in tears of;
regret and pain.
