He Smooths This Broken Road

Don't know what I'd do without God in my life
I really don't know how I would get through
He smooths the broken road I travel
While others don't have a clue!

Although I use to wear my heart on my sleeve
That has changed some in the last few years
I don't quite show my feelings as much
I'd rather be alone when I shed tears!

This pain from my loss has been tremendous
Although I've grieved loss before
But when it comes to a child of mine
A precious one that I bore!

The years went by and my love grew stronger
I loved my son with my heart and soul
An emotion more powerful than I had ever felt
My heart from the beginning, he stole!

I think about how the Lord blessed me
I had prayed for a family for years
God knew in His wisdom how things would turn out
And now He's here wiping these tears!

The pain my son felt couldn't be compared
To the Glory that he now feels
At home with his Heavenly Father
A brand new body that has been healed!
