I just want this night to end.
This semester.
This year.
This stress.
The past.
I just want things to melt away for us.
We deserve that much.
I feel like I just missed out on something very important.
But I hope you’re asleep.
It’s been a while since I’ve felt that luxury.
Sleep doesn’t feel like sleep sometimes.
I’m jealous of your nightmares.
They give you reason to love the real world even more.
I struggle to remember any dreams.
Imagine that?
But it’s true that you’re a dreamer, and I, a fool.
I haven’t a path in sight that I want to walk down.
You, though, will run through the thickets and come out with your love intact.
You at least have reason to keep going.
I just have you.
And these tough times put us to the test.
But what are valleys without the mountains at their ends?
What are beautiful peaks without a bottom to stare at?
Some valleys are smaller than others, and some mountains bigger.
We are yet to see where life will place us.
But I’m ready to hike with you.
