The Rise and Fall
Empires rise, and empires fall,
A cycle that repeats, through time's call.
From ancient Rome to the Ottoman sprawl,
Each has left its mark, on history's wall.
With every collapse, we lose it all,
Knowledge, wisdom, and culture's thrall.
The libraries burn, the scholars stall,
The future changes, at fate's cruel call.
Yet from the ashes, a new empire stands tall,
A new king, a new god, to heed their call.
A new era dawns, with a different drawl,
A new culture born, from the old's downfall.
But time erodes, and memories pall,
Once mighty rulers, now history's haul.
Their gods and kings, now mere footfall,
In the march of time, they stand so small.
So let us learn, from history's call,
To cherish knowledge, and culture's thrall.
For empires rise, and empires fall,
But our legacy, can outlast them all.
