Winter's Moonlight
Winter's moonlight
Gleaming through a memory's window
Illuminating the shape of a rose,
Still vaguely imprinted upon your pillowcase.

Autumn passed in her beautiful way,
Leaving like a gasp in the frigid air
Carrying you away in the last gust of color
A stain left, marking the shape of you.

In the shadow of the night,
Your heart could've been held tight,
Every tear wiped away,
Despair put to flight till the first kiss of sun.

Every street lamp is a reminder of you
The way you used to chase the moon
Your whisper is still in the air,
The reminiscent bliss, like a fantom
Haunts the oxygen I breathe
Every sigh, every look of the eye
Brings your voice back
Silent noise from the grave.
