What do you do when you fall and scrape your knee?
Do you use a band-aid or do you let it be?
If you were to physically bleed
how much would you be in need

Surely you would use a patch
to make open flesh reattach
Surely you would care to not leave it open
or even broken

Surely you would rush to aid a wound
Surely you would make a crying sound
you would certainly not leave it be
surely your face would not be lit up with glee

The same goes for our hearts
you should not leave in the darts
you should not leave your heart to bleed
it would be in to much need

You need to tend to it
you need to just admit
you cannot do this without aid
so why not reach for a band-aid

A band-aid in the form of a caring hug
which will save you from the hole you dug
you need to heal all broken pieces whether it be inside
or on the outside
