For Roscoe, The Friend I Never Knew
#WritcoPoemPrompt37

In the quietest part of the night,
When you hover between dark and light,
Wondering if you can float away on dreams,
Hoping they won't turn into screams...
I feel like in my heart that this must be what you thought about each day,
As the hurt and pain you felt was too much to talk about or say
But in your poetry hidden away we're your deepest thoughts of your life,
I could tell when I read it, that you like myself, hurt and loved deep and that cut your heart like a knife.
I didn't really know you or know what to say to you,
I only wished I had said more to that young poet that I admired before his life was through.
I hope he can somehow in a distance, feel my saddened heart that is breaking for a kid I never knew.
Only a name of Roscoe and such wonderful words he put on paper and his deep thoughts of his heart that he shared for me and you.

In memory of Roscoe:
a wonderful poet that shared his amazing words and feelings to us here on the Writco app. Wish I would have known him better but I know he definitely had talent and I am glad I shared this with him. God bless and take care of his loved ones left behind.
