Hers
#Reflection

Round hazel eyes,
Melanin hairy skin,
Full cute chubby cheeks,
Plump power pink lips,
And a tiny nose.

Hers.

That's who they belonged too.
Tiny freckles on the cheeks caused by crazy puberty days, and small baby hair from God's beautiful, afro creation.

Hers.

A double chin, and semi-straight teeth that never stop her from laughing, still hers.

A forever-changing body size because of weird food intakes, and double roll-side stomach fat that she has started to love, still hers, and everything that she sees in the mirror and now adorns, they have always belonged to her.

Maybe once upon a time, they called her fat, they called her ugly, they said her hair styles were pathetic and bad and may be then she believed them because she seemed to want to belong, to have a home within them, and maybe then, it took longer for her to see, that she was her.

And all of this, the stretch marks, the belly fat, the chubby cheeks, the hair arms, the pimples on her face, these were her type of beauty, her type of pretty, her type of glory.

This was her.

And all these belonged to her, in this lifetime and going into the next and because she is beautiful without the validation of others, what belonged to her, she started to love and appreciate and then one day, she looked in the mirror once more, and she loved her for her.

Not for the world, not for the people and certainly not for the validation because she knew then that she was special, a gemstone, rare and she was pure platinum and no matter what others said, all she had was hers and for her only.

And nobody had any right to judge nor add comments about!
