Obstacles
we live in anxietude
in communities of our fears
that insane and rumours died
romancing hardship to the face
fastening waters hard from nostrils
we are strucked with white papers
in schools which can't feed us
to tell of the greatest lie to us
is the magic of the white Man
in a gathering of toddlers to adulthood
we are led by obscurants
poisoned with greed in all spheres
robbers of hopes, killers of thought
they make the roads, set traps in it
they brought the planes, removed it engine
we are religious in faces
tigers in character, worst to deal
we call on "Abasi" to the face of all
but tie earthen pot to the waist in dark
until the obstacles murders our breath
we are the negroes in our land
eating scrumbs and raffs at home
exporting squails, manna abroad
we toil not for ourselves
but for the obstacles yet to be taken
