Lost Friendship

Once upon a time, we were as close as can be
Our bond was unbreakable, like a family tree
We laughed and we cried, we shared all our dreams
Nothing could ever come between our friendship so supreme

But as time passed by, our paths started to diverge
We grew apart, our lives took a different surge
Our conversations became less frequent and terse
And our problems were no longer shared in verse

The little things that used to make us smile
Were now mere memories, from a forgotten while
The silly jokes that used to make us laugh
Were now missing, like a lost photograph

We used to be there, for each other to confide
Our secrets were safe, like a treasure to hide
But now we talk, more like strangers than friends
The connection we once had, has come to an end

The memories of our friendship, still linger on
Like a melody, from a forgotten song
The laughter we shared, still echoes in our ear
But the bond that once was, is no longer here

I often wonder, where did we go wrong
Was it the distance or the time that was too long
Or was it something else that we couldn't see
That broke the bond of our friendship's decree

And yet, I know that friendship is not lost
It's just hidden, like the moon behind a cloud's frost
We can still find it, if we search with an open heart
And reignite the flame, that once set us apart

So, my dear old friend, if you can hear my call
Let's bury the past, and break down the wall
Let's pick up the pieces, and try to mend what's broke
For lost friendship can still be found, with a simple heartfelt spoke.
