THE STRUGGLE
The irony of life and death
Has been a mystery right from birth
Our sojourn in life is a test
We do our best and to God, we leave the rest
We are favoured beyond measure
But all we do is seek for pleasure
We neglect our purpose and significance
Are we forgetful or in a trance
In health, In wealth, we're ungrateful
Denial of God's bountiful favours, we're not truthful
Not until the inevitable is at stake
When the soul is disturbed, similar to an earthquake
Incredible team of surgeons and doctors
Giant machines and equipment but the body is in torture
We tried our best but we lost him, they say
All they wanted was for him to live, to stay
Dreams were shattered and hope was lost
Family and friends wanted him alive at all cost
Let thy will be done, when it's his time
Our efforts can't stop it, not even a dime
