insect poems
Here is a small selection of three-line poems about various insects. Some of them are haikuesque, some are humorous. I'd be happy if you enjoy it. I welcome any kind of feedback.

1
the butterfly
on my hand—
oh this trust in the world!

2*
tomorrow we will
have a much better life
said the mayfly

3
love songs
sung by a mosquito band
"wild wild moon"

4
night flicker—
i'm the moth
you're the candle

5
small butterfly on my palm
magnificient enough
to enchant

6
dead wood—
in the hallways
giggling of larvae

7
those stars above
twinkling to say something
— fireflies answering

8
a butterfly
on the wrist—
will she feel your pulse?

9
those dragonflies
and ladybugs
will they remember me?

10*
next life maybe
you and me will be mayflies
having one-night stands

11
roaring beetles
rolling an enormeous
dung ball

12
crickets chirping
on hueless petals
scenting in the moonlit night

* Note: Mayflies at the subimago stage do not survive for long, rarely for more than 24 hours.
