This Night

Upon a summer's eve, the sun descends,
With golden rays that paint the sky wide,
The day, with all its labors, gently ends,
Th night’s cool breath brings calm on every side.

The twilight whispers secrets to the trees,
As stars begin to shimmer in the dark,
A gentle breeze stirs through the leaves,
And crickets start their nightly serenade, Hark!

The moon ascends, a silver sentinel,
Casting its glow on earth’s tranquility
A time for dreams where fantasies dwell,
In slumber’s arms, our weary eyes now Close.

In night’s embrace, we find our sweet reprieve,
Till dawn’s first light bids us anew to live.
