A dream that can never be
We sit under the dark night,
the moon and the stars the only light.
A hand over my shoulder bend slight.
I look into your eyes; a heavenly sight
I feel safe.
But my eyes open to a harsh reality,
siting in my bed with no immunity
as tears slide down and normality
takes away my dignity.
My home.
For now I realize you weren't real,
a fragment of my imagination that I steal
from the pages of a book I read.
But don't you see?
It only you that I need.
Even though you are of different breed,
my lover you must be indeed.
Or is it just greed?
