River
Everyday is a brand new battle
Every week I lose another war
I'm starting to lose sight
of what I've been fighting for
All of this fighting has brought me here
where I've never felt so low
No, I've never felt more alone
And there's not enough room in the sky
to carry the weight of what has been running through my mind
All of this pressure could be lifted
if you just took my hand again
or if you just pulled the trigger
and shot me dead where I stand
So if this broken body falls
and my bones can no longer shiver
I hope you set me on fire
and send me down the river
I'm drinking wine like it's water
hoping it might cure me
from the disease that's so infecting
and reminding of the things I used to believe
But you can't kill me, if I kill me first
with my desires or this drink
my guilt or my loneliness
or what ever this heartbreak may bring
So if my heart becomes to heavy
and there's no more love for you to deliver
I hope you set me on fire
and send me down the river
Every week I lose another war

of what I've been fighting for
