Mere Mortals
As a child I'd perceive,
I'd perceive things differently,
Films about death wouldn't scare me so
I was not aware of my mortality
I did not know what it was all building up to
It wasn't until I grew into the adult I am today
That I would realise the pain of loss
of death
Seeing life seep out of a living being until there was no heartbeat
I have learned that We are not invincible
We all have a date
We all have a time
I wish that I knew less of what I know know
I wish that I was still young
When I knew little of the world
and less of life...
When it all was all only a mystery.
