Have you ever plugged in a light?
A current races down the wire and illuminates a bulb.
If severed from it's lamp that same cord carries the same current despite.
Energy flows in an endless stream but it strangely goes unnoticed.
All we see is a wire that never lost it's bite.
There's a reason we call it a live wire.
It just lacks a purpose without a lamp to light.
It's dangerous now, handle it with care.
It has a place where it belongs, somewhere it fits just right.
Apart from which it can't flow safely.
But if ever the two are joined again the lamp then reignites.
