We left on the train,
a long time ago
Free from the pain,
we knew long ago

Oh saved from the pain,
saved from the sword
When we fought to the train,
by force of the sword
Oh long did we fight,
oh long did we try,
Though many a good man did die

Oh saved from the sword
oh saved from the bow
When we got on the train,
oh long long ago
Oh long live the good
our glorious dead
Who now lie bloody, gorry and dead.
