How to break free?
Time isn’t stopping for anyone
Even when my world has stopped from turning.
As if submerged in deep and murky water,
My movements restricted and painfully slow,
I blankly stare at everyone and everything
That pass me by so effortlessly,
While I-
I stand glued on the same ground
As if shackled by invisible chains,
And the more I struggle,
The more I find it hard to breathe-
The more I quietly bleed-
So how to break free?
But,
Time isn’t stopping for anyone
Even when my own heart stops beating.
As if submerged in deep and cold water,
My movements still restricted and painfully slow,
I thoughtfully stare at my own hands and feet
While everyone continues to pass me by,
And I-
I still stand on the same ground,
But these invisible chains won’t stop me-
I’ll go down on my knees
To crawl of I have to-
To suffocate and bleed if I have to-
Just to get away from here-
So, how to break free?
Take a step forward-
On all fours, if you have to.
