A Christmas Wrap
Where have the last two years gone?,
It’s hard to fathom all things going on.
Nations all over ravaged by pandemic,
Uprising, dictators becoming endemic.

Countries unsettled at Christmas time,
A disease reinventing and so sublime.
People wanting to see loved ones now,
So farc away but need to visit somehow.

Some have lost their friends and lovers,
Others waiting, watching if life recovers.
Many have welcomed a new addition,
While others suffer from an addiction.

Some of the world are in holiday mode,
But can we relax on earth’s rocky road?
Some make the most at this time of year,
Others shy away from our universal sphere.

It should be time of togetherness and giving,
But for some it’s loneliness and unforgiving.
Not all lives were lost to the Covid-19 illness,
Some fell of cancer, heart and even chillness.

It’s a privilege to be with our loved ones
When others in the world battle with guns.
There are some who struggle with depression
Unable to heal from the dark oppression.

Christmas time is meant to be full of joy,
But for many, it will be difficult to enjoy.
No matter what kind of loss people do feel
Christmas is the hardest for some to be real.

If you can, during our festive holiday season,
Reach out to one in need, give them a reason.
Give them a present in a Christmas wrap,
Hug them wrapping your arms like a strap.

Text hugs if you can’t be there in person,
Contact's better than their feelings worsen.
Be humble for all you get on Christmas day,
You don't know when loved ones pass away.
