Solitaria Caritate
With a broken heart and a heavy sigh,
I stared into the night's inky sky,
And wondered why, that all I loved, I loved alone.
It felt like stone, this sorrow deep inside,
That I must bear, this weight, this pride.
Though loneliness may make me weep,
I'll hold all my love, and try to keep.

Yet I am almost sure, that I’ll fail.
To all I have given my heart,
They take, forgetting that I am frail,
They take, forgetting that I feel the pain.
It hurts to give my love away,
Because after all I’ve given,
None has ever bothered to stay.
