I Matter Too
Why am I at risk
Is a question I ask everyday
Because I'm black
And I'm constantly feeling attack
You see my skin is a target
For those who don't understand
And sometimes people fear me
Just because they can
My skin is not a weapon
I'm no danger to you
And I still walk down these streets everyday
Feeling anxious and scared
Because I'm facing discrimination, bigotry and hate
The color of my skin
Is sometimes all people see
If I speak my mind just like you
I'm stereotyped
As sassy, angry and mean
The color of my skin
Shouldn't dictate the way
People treat me
I'm human just like you
I want to be not judge
And treated equal too
My life has value
I MATTER TOO
