Matters of the Heart
So I take up my pen to write once more
About Matters of my heart
Matters that matter most to me
Oh who can understand this feeling?
Does it always have to be this way?
Are men destined to live with heartaches?
Are all men the same, or women for that matter?

I have no answers to the unquenchable questions I have.
For who can even understand me?
I talk, walk, eat, and laugh as if nothing happened
For matters of the heart I rarely pour out

All that I realize now is that I've given all
I've given the most vulnerable part of me
Not matters of the heart, but my heart
I've given my heart to another
I've trusted another to take care of it.
But Alas, it was broken to pieces.

Oh heart, my heart, forgive me for this
I did not know it would be this way
I left you with the person I trusted the most
and you got shattered the most

My heart, this is what I'll do
I'll pick the broken pieces of you, one by one
Oh heart, Every piece of you I'll take
And all the matters of the heart
I know not how to put the pieces together
So I'll take a metal chest for you.

All your pieces will be inside
Memories you've had will be locked away
All and none left.
Oh heart, give ear to me my heart, You and I are one.
I'll be on guard to keep you away from all
Women, men, children, animals, and the rest.
You'll be in your chest, and time will heal you

I'll take you to the ends of the earth
We'll fly over mountains and cross oceans
Far from home, far from all we've been through
Yes, let memories fade away, and we'll lose ourselves with the northern lights.
