Shackled By Sickness
Here I lay.
Burdened to face another day.
Like sifting through mud.
Each spoken lie written in dried blood.
Promises I couldn't keep.
Tears run dry lost all reason to weep.
How much more can I go through.
How much more pain is enough for you.
Head pounding.
Voices surrounding.
Shackled by this sickness.
Woeful thoughts flood with a swiftness.
There's nothing left to reach out for.
Just empty space where my will to go on was before.
Brave face but absolute peril deep within.
Only prolonging with the use of this medicine.
My room continues to spin.
My walls closing in.
I'm anything but healthy.
No prescription will help me.
