Relativity
She wears city lights and wildflowers
Sailing across a life of complex simplicities
A human, a hummingbird, a supernova
She pours another mug, inhaling today
Time dances around her, aware and awake
For tomorrow’s promises may never rise
And yesterday’s sugar already spoiled
She scrolls inattentive, dreaming of waves
Reality’s tides pool at her feet, light taps
Music often felt like her only communication
Yet she saves her favorites for time alone
Sometimes she wonders if she was born
Too early for the future’s skyline,
Too late for fresh, acoustic lavender
She sighs into another sip, humming softly
A welcome gust blows petals from her hair
She grounds herself as they land, delicate
Upon a neon-graffitied concrete sidewalk
Her breath steadies her heart, her mind
“Gravity waves shape time,” she recalls
So isn’t she always sailing? Always floating?
