Stomping Grounds
I come from a town where all that can shine
are the reasons to frown, and the reasons to whine
Where sewers are streets filled with craters galore
and the most honest lifestyle is that of a hoooooooorse

Stick cowboys and ramblers all make their way here
it isn't through hardship, but that of true fear
that they'll never accomplish and never know why
they've spent all their money and good wine and their wives

Their children are spoiled and so are their peers
walking through thick shadow this is all I can hear
the youth has gone mad and lost is the year
where did we go wrong, or was it inevitably queer

As the eagle fly's by with the freedom of truth
we all stand aside knowing none of us knew
of what to expect from a town full of hate
the kind of malice, could eviscerate one's fate

I came from a town that gave me good friends
it taught me how to lose, and it taught me how to win
I've found such fondness through the thick and the thin
this is the only town from where I'd begin again
