To the East, From the West

I hope you know I tried my best.

To take up sword to fight your foes

And take up shield to guard from woes.

As a human, I hope you see

My hopes and dreams were cast to sea

Like you too, I've been betrayed

And wonder why I even stayed.

I was misguided, my empathy subsided

When I found the world divided.

The scars you bear, the fault is mine

I pass the torch to next in line.

Rekindle the hope, and perhaps with time

Together we can correct this fault of mine.
