The Land of Oh-So-Lovely; But so Lonely
(A story poem of a wish upon a star, this has no correlation with myself the author, this was written upon per inspiration of putting myself in the shoes of another person)

Oh-So-Lovely

There was a old man who walked by the sea;
In a land called Oh-So-Lovely.
;
Millions of star systems away from our Milky Way galaxy.
;
The sands of the beach glistening upon the light of two sun's in a dance of perfect harmony.
;
A place as he wished upon a star for;
A place like earth without any pain and suffering.
;
He wished to be away from all people that ignored him when he sat begging in the rain on the streets.
;
People for years passing by some, yes some showed real humble love and selfless charity.
;
As the old man walked the shoreline he reflected back in time;
When his life was on planet earth.
;
The things he could have said;
Things he could have done or even many he should have undone.
The things that he should not have did.
;
He asks himself why he wished upon that shooting star;
And still in awe after 30 years of being truly alone, a million galaxies away from the place he used to call home.
;
His cardboard box he lived in that earthen city, so long ago;
He lost everyone he knew tragically and suddenly.
;
That horrid day he shut out love given and love gained.
As his garments were fully stained.
;
The riches he had that he did not share before he lost everyone he ever had.
;
The times he ignored the beggers and even his own loved ones;
Yes he lives carrying all of his wrongs he wishes could be undone.
;
People would not have known when they passed him by;
that he was like many of them at one time.
;
No people knew his story as many saw him by appearance as ragged and scary.
Some people gave him food;
He was always grateful for every dime.
;
The night he got mugged and robbed of his last penny;
He realized this earth truly had lost the core of humanity.
;
LOVE.
;
As he was bleeding and trembling looking high in the dark starlit sky above.
He saw that shooting star as he was passing out from the beating;
Take me away whoever You are;
To the farthest away star.
;
As he continues to walk the beach he sees a rock cut out like a chair.
;
Facing the water;
While sitting down and brushing away his scraggly hair;
He looks off across the ever peaceful waters of the sea Oh-So-Lovely.
The name he gave this place he now calls home.
;
He thinks of the times he took so many blows;
The world turned against him;
But his faith never faltered.
;
He still can feel how people shut him out of food and clothes,
The many gazes and stares of judgment.
;
This old man never used chemicals or drugs or booze;
The loss of everyone he ever loved was his eternal torment.
;
That pain he carries on even in his world of Oh-So-Lovely.
;
He gave up on humanity;
Gave up on his sanity.
;
As he saw the worst of the worst;
Rich getting richer;
Poorer getting poorer;
The violent, turning to more violence.
The corrupt, corrupting the innocent.
The chaos and turmoil of wars and evil intention.
;
Natural disasters upon epic proportions;
Yes this old man observed it all;
He saw it and had a chance to bail out before the fall.
;
Now he lives in regret of not going back and giving his all;
To love others no matter how hard it is or not;
That is what he failed to do in his life here;
As he had no love to gain or to give.
;
Earth sucked his love dry like a sieve.
Now he cannot ever return.
;
When he got to Oh-So-Lovely;
What he will never see;
Is a shooting star;
;
For Oh-So-Lovely is where the shooting stars hail from;
He watches every night for years and has
never seen one.
In hope one day he will and make a humble compassionate retern.
;
So he wishes the ones people see here;
Would inspire them to love one another;
To live in peace and harmony;
With and for all humanity.
;
He lives eternal regretting what he did not do when he had the chances to push through the pain;
And not isolate himself away.
;
But he can send his wisdom here.
In hope that someone has a ear.

Love all, for all, and through all things.
Take each day with humbleness and persevere.
