To Define A Memory
Can I be memorable?
as the dead stars in the sky are still visible
can i be memorable?
in the hands of a child, i was left to ponder how long i’ll lurk in your mind, knowing how long you’ll live in mine
can i be a white shadow in a dark world,
and a hollow opening in a closed room?
bewilder me with a sense that i was forgotten
will i ache?
i cant anymore
though, pain refills itself in my limited body and hurt is infinite in my finite heart
but i’ll always find a way to be at peace with the unknown when it ceases to voluntarily give up a side of itself
one that could have been a certain calmness and tranquility i would always long for
but peace has a cost
and that cost would always be chaos
and although i can never know when to expect hurt,
i can always admire a good memory of myself savoring the green grass and blue skies in broad daylight
