If only wishes can come true,
I have one or two or maybe a few,
And they're all about you, for whom
My cold, dark heart will always have room
You gave me hope when there was none
You helped me finish what I had begun
You stayed by my side through thick and thin
With you I always knew I could win
Many times I didn't treat you right
I was mean and cruel when we would fight
But you never left, you took the abuse
For so many years, you were there for my use
I now know the things I did to you took their toll
My selfish needs surely played their roll
I caused you such pain, brought sadness and strife
I am the reason that you took your life
