Be good, they say, and kindness show
But at what cost, to make us low?
The world is cruel, it can be tough
And sacrificing all, is not enough.

Others may not see, our every try
Our efforts lost, in a passing by.
So more than good, let's learn to love
Ourself and others, up above.

Let's appreciate the work we do
Cherish each moment, all the way through.
And in being true to who we are
We'll shine a light, like a guiding star.

So be good, yes, but not at the price
Of losing self, of losing sight.
For in loving self and others too
We'll find the good, in all we do.
