That Bench
Today,
I was caught in the passing shower
when I was returning back home.
I had to take shelter,
I entered the park nearby,
the park where we used to go.
I wasn't hesitant, why would I be?
Its been years since we last went there.
And time changes things, I was told.
I entered, and it looked nothing like it was.
The new gatekeeper didn't give me a smile,
The gardener was nicer than usual
and the flowers of course were new and bright.
Time had changed it all I suppose
like the way it changed you,
like the way it changed me.
Even so, I was happy.
The rained poured on as I walked
And getting drenched didn't feel bad for once
I kept walking,
Everything seemed to have changed seamlessly
untill my steps found their way to that bench
do you remember that bench?
Our bench?
The bench where you carved our names with you hair clip, along with those little hearts ...
