I'm trapped up in a cage,
Can't move or fly to save myself,
Wings all clipped off rendering me
Useless and helpless!

I'm tired of watching my fellow flying high
And enjoying themselves, fulfilling their purpose
In life while I wallow away in pain and self pity,
Watching myself being swallowed by the darkness,
That surrounds me in the cage!

Oh how I yearn to bask in the sun again,
Fly away in the wild and smell freedom
In the blue skies above, as I'm set free...
