The Potter's Vessel
I am a broken vessel
In need of a potter's bezel
Once I had it all
Now it's all shattered.

But when you came along
You picked the pieces on
And put them all, one by one
A piece at a time, leaving none.

You made this earthen vessel
Which had a lot of freckle
Into an art of gold, special
And so appealing, with no denial.

Better than Solomon's drinking vessels of old
Purer than a 24 karat gold
Smoother than the mirror we behold
Better yet in others, these you manifold.

You're the master potter, I'm the clay
I'll sit and wait, every day
For your hands to mold
Me into this vessel of gold.

For you're the potter, and I'm the clay.
