The Alchemist
#MothersDayPoem
The fragrance of my childhood,
Hides in the folds of your embrace,
The memories of my infancy are embedded in you
How you nurtured and cared for me
Like a sorcerer you knew my every need
You saw right through me
My thoughts were your thoughts
Even with tears I spoke words too large to say
My tears were your tears
The lullaby you sang while I cried
The comfort I felt when you put me to sleep
The sensation I felt when you put the milk in my mouth
You conjured beauty out of ashes
You spun straw into gold
You balanced life with love
And you gave life a meaning
