Seeing Through Your Facade
#WritcoPoemPrompt48
Write a poem about a time that your illusions of someone or something were shattered.
There was a beginning,
followed by an end.
You're words never lasted, and I grew tired, I grew warn.
Nothing added up,
nothing made sense.
Fighting became a habit,
the light inside me dimmed.
Did you ever love me?
Do you even love yourself?
The day I left,
is the day I could take a breath.
As time went on,
your facade became obvious.
I stayed too long,
I wasted precious time.
In the end I forgave myself.
In the end I grew.
You taught me about Monsters,
Monsters who live inside people.
People like you.
