The Anatomy of Love.
You and I,
Like two miss matched hair ties,
Like night and day,
Lovely and strange.
We would walk these winding streets,
Alway too hot or too cold or too something.
Too much.
But we were perfect.
Life was sweet and we were salty.
Heads always high,
Looking down from the sky
The King and Queen of Castlefield.

You Showed me the ropes,
I showed you my burns,
together we learned a thing or two..
I wasn't always embarrassed to cry in front of you.

But how we'd digress,
Unsure of our mess,
Let's keep the town talk minimal,
The hive minds have a way of complicating what is simple.
Love in private,
Keeping it real...if we could.
I'm glad we did it our way,
We kept it clean in a dirty world,

I found in you a safe place to rest my pain.
You said I let you dream again,
Fair exchange?

Before I go I need to know,
I loved you in your own way.
Right place, wrong time.
But it's fine.

And for once I can keep a place in my heart for you.
To send you peace, and comfort to route for and be happy for you.
Let you go your way while I go mine,
We had a good time,
I wish nothing but the best,
for the both of us.
The wishbone in the road approaching,
Goodbyes in our secret place,
Your hands for the last time on my face,
When all is said, it's finally done.
I am sorry you were not the one.
