The Monster You Made Me
You molded me into something,
That I never wanted to be,
A monster with no conscience,
A beast with no empathy.
You taught me to be cruel,
And to all others be unkind,
And now I walk this earth,
With a mind that’s hard to unwind.
At first, I was just a mirror,
Reflecting what you’d done,
But then it became a part of me,
A darkness that could never be undone.
You said showing love wasn’t who you were,
I had hoped that one day you would change,
And eventually it came to be,
But too late, the wait had changed me.
I am the monster you created,
A reflection of your flaws,
And now I wander through this world,
As nothing but a lost cause.
That I never wanted to be,
A monster with no conscience,
A beast with no empathy.
You taught me to be cruel,
And to all others be unkind,
And now I walk this earth,
With a mind that’s hard to unwind.
At first, I was just a mirror,
Reflecting what you’d done,
But then it became a part of me,
A darkness that could never be undone.
You said showing love wasn’t who you were,
I had hoped that one day you would change,
And eventually it came to be,
But too late, the wait had changed me.
I am the monster you created,
A reflection of your flaws,
And now I wander through this world,
As nothing but a lost cause.
