THE TRAINS STOP HERE
The trains stop here. or at least they used to.

That was Back when the cars were still made here.
Back when the factories were still going strong.

The trains would come in full of buckets of paint.
Varied Hues in every color of the rainbow.

It was used to paint the wheels and bodies of the cars.
Black and red, green and blue some even two toned.

the train would bring boxcars filled with screws and bolts
And nuts of every kind. lock nuts, wing nuts and lug nuts.

The train would bring gears and engine blocks.
There would be flat cars filled with bumpers.

And train cars loaded with transmissions.
And head gaskets, oil pans and radios.

Heater cores, leaf springs, and ratadiators.
Mufflers and drive shafts and shifter nobs.

Other trains stopped here filled with steel.
To feed the factories ever hungry foundries

The trains were the life's blood of the factories
And in turn the factories the life's blood of the middle class.

The trains would stop here before they quit making the cars here.
Before the factories were all shipped to other countries along with our jobs

When the trains quit stopping the life's blood of the factories was cut off.
And So to was the life's blood of our nations middle class cut off.

The trains stop here. Or at least they used to.
