Funeral
It was a foggy Sunday morning...
the trees were bare, I was in the church
My momma was crying, dad gently held her hands.
I saw Lisa next to me, sobbing softly..
Only she and I knew, they were in love
Momma led the way to the casket...
There lay Jimmy, cold and lifeless
Tears rolled down my tired eyes,
I looked out of the window, it was like the world was mourning...
I was surrounded by his loved one's cries.
Lisa put her hands on my shoulders and her tears ran down my black sleeve...
She said " Please tell me it isn't Jimmy, I can't believe !"
The choir sang our favorite song...
the piano made us cry even more...
I whispered, Sweet Jesus! take care of him, the boy's just fifteen.

Ooooh oh...
its 10 am and I'm in a funeral
Ohhh oh...
Jimmy's never coming back..
Lisa's crying secretly, raining down her tears on me...
Oh Lord, give me peace.
Oooh oh...
I saw the poor boy yesterday, alive
Oooh ho...
I feel guilty for not saying goodbye.

The priest said Amen and they took his casket out..
his father was sadly holding his weak spouse...
Oh Lord, it's Sunday morning give me peace.
Sweet Jesus, take care of him he's just fifteen.

They take him in a van decorated with flowers...
only me and Lisa knew, lavenders were his favorite,
Nobody cared about Lisa only except me, mom and dad...
but only I knew that Lisa truly loved the lad,
It started raining, the gathering said their final goodbyes..
Lisa touched his face when they were all praying
She said "he's cold and pale yet soft as usual...
his cheeks ain't rosy but still he's beautiful.. "
They nailed his casket on all four sides, Lisa shut her eyes.

Ooooh oh...
it is 11 am and I'm in the burial ground..
oooh oh...
after this, we won't see Jimmy hanging around,
I held Lisa in my arms like a mother she deserved...
he may turn to dust, but she has their memories preserved,
Oh Lord...give Lisa some peace,
Sweet Jesus, the girl's just fifteen

They lowered him to the ground...
six feet down, he's in a deep slumber,
My momma told to me bring Lisa to church...
we waited till everyone went.
Only me and Lisa when it all began...
only me and Lisa when it ended,
she fell on her knees but never cried..
I never spoke but stood puzzled, beside
She gave a sad smiled and walked to the gate
I followed her, didn't want her to wait.

Oooh oh...
its 12 pm and we're heading to the church...
oooh oh...
we shared an umbrella on our way,
We held our hands and walked with tear filled eyes...
Lisa whispered, " Jimmy's in paradise"
Oh Lord, give us peace...
Sweet Jesus, we're just fifteen.
