TEENAGE TEMPEST AT THE CONFLUENCE OF LIFE'S SPRING AND AUTUMN
TEENAGE TEMPEST AT THE CONFLUENCE OF LIFE'S SPRING AND AUTUMN
Wild as wind in the stormy sea
Teenage unfolds at playful thirteen
Ah those were the pleasant days special
Now only bleak memories in the back-pack
God’s own beauty rainbow shine colours flare
‘And how fast they passed,’ to think sure amaze
With their advent come funny conversations
Peculiar enthusiasm and cheers hilarious
Fun and excitement and uncanny fears attack
Talking of that today loud laughter crack
Firsts many encountered unawares
Laden with a ton of challenge everywhere
“So many questions in my head…?”
The time’s benign wonder tread
Restlessness forces an un-cheery yawn
Sometimes emotional towers spiral tall
Imprisoned thoughts dating prehistory
Confusions dot every ticking second awry
Silent waves of teenage void ding dong
Messing up every shadow of wild thought
So many questions shut beneath the dress
Caught in the struggle of the right and the wrong
“Will I find someone to turn to…?”
Unaware lips crave to spell wishes strange
Red and blue dreams circle the heart
Unreachable by the light of wisdom smart
A touch strange, caress alien, bliss in entangling hearts
Entwining of bodies in spiralling seduction dance
In the maturing times of autumn age’s blinded inquest
Shying bodies drink in heavy romance magic swept.
In such springs of heavenly tides pour in ecstasy
Imagination fierce tempests breaching every leash
Then again awakens slow wisdom’s glare
“Oh, they want me to be prepared…”
Life builds into a mysterious mansion
Full of criss-crossing isles and clues none
Words spoken with “Don’t…” always hurt
Felt like one forever would need to be walked
Closest people often would be pushed away
“I’ve grown enough to take care…” often is blared
Changing times, choices many one hunkers trying
Thinking, “I’ll make my own choice, lest I’ll be left behind…”
“Why should I hold on to you tight, you know I’m growing up?
How would you know what it means in life to move on?”
Sun begins to rise, life morphs so does the dawn within
Soon fascination fades awakened by thoughts deep
I’ve travelled from the east with the baby steps big
But ran through the blossoming youth’s days hectic
Jogging in the middle and then brisk walking to the west
The therapeutic baby steps now my only comprehension
Age courteous none I stand at the sunset’s shore
From where I see the teen looks such a blind roar
And I know, parent’s rule was the beacon of light true
Their presence brought care and sparkling wit cool
With eyes of the rules love them with heart and mind
Their looking glass you alter for autumn to show the way
Though their drenched stolen hours breathe by breathe
And word by word their tongue shall learn wisdom great.
