I don't need you to tell me I'm no good,
I do that myself.
I don't need you to say you are there when your back is turned around.
I do that myself.
I don't need you to tell me you love me, then show me something different.
I do that myself.

I am a reliable person
I deserve to be told I am such,
I have courage, resilience, and survived through many trials and tribulations.
I don't need you to beat me down and make me feel smaller than I do.
I do that myself.

Give me the strength to show me that you support me.
I do that to you,
Do that for me!
I don't need your voice to belittle me!
I do that enough myself.

Please build me up,
Give me the strength I know its there
I just don't see it,
Give me the courage I have,
I just don't dare take advantage of it.
